F*** A Signature Sound

FP's view on "producer" is indeed pretty flawed, and this has been discussed a number of times - there's the classic "rock" producer view, and there's the "beetmaker++" view and both are somewhat correct and incomplete at the same time; the classic camp fails to acknowledge the term has somewhat transformed to cover other things while the, um, "rap" camp didn't know what a producer was before they were brought in the limelight in the recent years, to exaggerate a bit.
 
I blame Timbaland and Kanye for getting too big and causing the shift from "Iwanna be in a band like that" to "I want to produce for bands like that and make fistfulls of cash."
