Howdy. Three quick questions:
Given an instrument sample, how can I quickly determine the note being played? Are there any free programs that can calculate the pitch of the sample?
Also, I'd like to use soundfonts, but my soundcard does not support them for playback and I presently have no software that works with them. Are there any free packages that can utilize soundfonts (In any concievable way).
Lastly, I've been having trouble finding sources devoted to free instrument samples -- Most sites I've encountered only offer the occasional sample of a recorded instrument. What free sites out there offer quality instrument samples?
Any assistance is appreciated -- Thanks in advance!
