best n cheap headphones for music production

I haven't tried them myself, but for your budget i've heard good things about the Sennheiser HD280 and AKG K240 Studio

Try Sony MDR series. I love mine.

I never mix in headphones, but I can definitely spot check my mix and produce in them when I need to

All I ever use are Sony and Philips in the $40-60 range. If you get them from amazon you can get a $100 pair for $40-60.

They've never failed me to this day.
