Academic Pricing Question

I found a place online that has reason 3.0 for 200 bucks shipped as a student price. Now I've never heard of this kind of thing before. I haven't even heard of anybody else doing this, which I don't understand because you can get this for 250 dollars off. I was wondering if anybody could tell me about this phenomena because its an amazing program at a price that I can afford lol. All I have to do is show them student ID.

Should I buy from this place at this academic price?

I've purchased a few things from the same place... as far as I can tell... I don't see a different... and I've bought both Reason and Cubase from there... I wish they sold the MBox there too...lol... ah well... guess I had to pay full price for something
