I'm not too sure myself, but I think a dub refers to a remix where the bassline is accentuated and the vocals are cut down. They are also generally instrumental in nature.

thanks for your answer. yeah i just wasn't sure if it means some type of mixing or whether a dub mix means changing the beat of a track from straight 4/4 to some kind of differently accentuated beat.
Dub is a form of audio production founded in Jamaica that uses odd recording/compression/fx techniques. The production is usually really analog sounding and raw. There are many meanings for it now I guess like a dub as in dub plate.. but same concept if you think about it.. Wake up in the morning - make a tune - cut it to dub in the afternoon - play it that night.
