I just got my equipment in-- i read the manual about the SK-2F fader..and found out that the curve adjustment wasn't useable when i have this optical fader in. now, considering i like to scratch, but have been working alot on mixing..would you suggest I take out the focus fader and put in the regular one with the available curve adjustment that way i can do long mixes as well?

of course the focus fader is higher quality b/c it's optical..etc etc... I'm afraid to mess it up by taking it out of the mixer and exposing it.. anyhow..please respond..thanx.

when u say mixing u mean beat matching mix?
if so, just use ur ch. faders for this, and use the CF for scratching and cutting

Yup for normal mixing I'd suggest using the channel faders. (I hardly use the x-fader myself in that case, only to do fast cuts).

It gives you more control and smoother volume changes too.
