I am trying to fix up a Mixed DJ set that I did and was wondering what would be a good setting to you with the Wave Hammer.

Up until now I have just been using normalize but want to try and see if i can get a tighter sound with the Wave Hammer. I am kinda new at this just starting to understand compression and normalizing. Any info or explanation on how compression and the Wave Hammer works would be great.

well if you're talking about applying this to an entire stereo mix then be careful. What you're essentially doing is remastering. Try using the "Master for 16-bit" setting & check to see that the output from the compressor isn't peaking over 0dB.

If you want to push for more volume , then use the volume maximiser - try taking the threshold down to -2dB and set the out put to -0.2dB. See how that sounds... & then tweak it a bit.

All of the above is only useful if you have a healthy stereo mix down to play with that's hitting over -6dB beforehand...

hope that helps

btw here's a useful article on compression
