Scratching with Numark TTUSB

I know nothing about scratching but I'm looking to learn. I have a numark TTUSB that I use for sampling when I produce. Could this be used for scratching? Im guessing it couldnt because it's a belt drive...do you need a direct drive to scratch? Thanks in adnvance!

Dont even imagine scratching with belt drive turntable! Do you have mixer?
