a question about keeping the beat

here's a stupid question, when you are using turntables to mix a track and you have the melody on one half and the drum beat on the other but both of the records have vocals on it (besides the break for the drum beat and the melody) how do you keep the beat going and mix it from there? do you keep juggling the records to maintain that sound? I know this sounds like it was typed by a 3rd grader but I haven't really laid hands on any turntables in a serious way so I wouldn't know.

Beatjuggling is the only way.... To have a vocal riding on top of a looped part would require 3 turntables. Beat juggle the beat with 2 tunrtables and then ride the vocal ontop. But then ur beat juggles have to be spot on in time or the vocal will go out.

Just re read ur post....confused lol. Vocals on both tunes.....but u want to loop up just melody from one and drums from another? U wanna use any vocal?

Tell u what, do u have msn? could probably explain stuff easier on there. PM me if so and I'll try to help.

Peace.
