Heres how it works. Rate yourself in the following skills on a scale from 1-10. 1 Being least skilled, 10 being a master. When you're done, just add up your score and multiply your sum by 1000. Simple.

Here is a breakdown of all the skills; just to avoid any confusion:

Composing - how well you create and blend different melodies.

Arrangement - how well you sequence a track.

Sampling - how well you can chop and flip samples.

Drums - how well you program drums. Are they hard hitting? Do they fit the track?

Mixing - The overall sound of your tracks.

Creativity - your ability to use your resources in different ways.

Diversity - Can you shift to other moods or genres at will?

Adaptability - the rate at which you can learn new things.

Efficiency - your ability to make quality work in a short amount of time.

Song Writing - can you come up with good lyrics if need be.

Business Sense - your knowledge of the industry. How well you can manage yourself.


and be honest. If you're not, then you're only hurting yourself :)

My power rating is 57000 so its pretty good. Mainly, I really need to work on my composing, arranging, and mixing. I have sampling down pretty good IMO and I learned a little about the biz with some tracks I did for Pottersfield, St. laz and 354 that should come out pretty soon. I work pretty quick but diversity aint me really. Song writing I'm okay at, I guess I could get some pretty cool stuff. Good idea One80. Peace

Sampling - 0 i learnt on a floppy disk one when i was 16,i'm too lazy to learn a different one at the moment.

Drums - 10 my drums are usually my favourite bits of my things.

Mixing - 7 am guilty of eqing too much towards bass,i really cant help it.

Creativity - 6.5

Diversity - 9.5

Adaptability - 8

Efficiency - 2 i can make short loops very quickly but full songs take ages cause i procrastinate so much.

Song Writing - 6.5 can be a bit wanky sometimes

Me, i'm no where near a 10 on anything. I probably max out at a 6.5 on my highest category.

lol...I remember when the post was made as how you would rank yourself as a producer, 1 being crap, and 10 being Dr. Dre, and a good majority of people ranked themselves at 8 or 9.

Composing - 7 (although I'm sort of in a producer's block right now :( )

Arrangement - 5

Sampling - 1 (I'd give myself a negative number if I could)

Drums - 8.5

Mixing - 7 (I don't experiment enough with effects... after I find something that works then I stick with it)

Creativity - 5

Diversity - 4 (I don't experiment too much... shyt most of the time I don't know what the hell I be makin)

Adaptability - 8

Efficiency - 1 (I work MUTHAFUKKIN SLOW)

Song Writing - 7.5

Business Sense - 4 (I'm learning more everyday)

My greatest challenge is efficiency. I take forever to get something done.
NOt really concerned with business at all at this point.

Anyway I've got a lot to learn. I'm just at the beginning of a road that's just gonna time and working on it.

They can do absolutly EVERYTHING. And not only can they do EVERYTHING, they can do everything GREAT.


I can do alot, and I think i'm pretty good, but those guys are my gold standard. They are 10's. So in comparison to them, i'm a blip on the radar screen.


Now if this is the FP scale, well...:D
