If you get a placement on a album have you made It?

If you live off of your music have you made It?

If you get signed to a major label have you made It?



to all my fellow fper's what do you define as making It?
 
What Polair said, even if I were to only make it as far as having an apartment and a car and being able to pay all my bills off music alone, I'd be pretty happy with that at my current age. But as I get older and want to have a family and ish I'll realize that alone wont cut it

Tis true, Slick Rick is a legend, as am I, it would only make sense.
 
If I can match my 9 to 5 money doing music I may end up quitting my 9 to 5 but its doubtful because then music becomes a job and I already had one of those and it offered benefits. Music is a great side hustle and its fun I like to keep it at that.

what If you made 5k more from music than your 9 to 5.

would you quit then or leave music a side hustle?
 
dont know about "making it" but being respected amongst my peers and making a living while being able to afford and keep up my lifestyle is good enough for me
