If ya'll ninjas really wanna buy some of the older issues... get at me.

Man, if ANYBODY has the hardcover of the first issue (not just the .pdf which I have) with Dre, please hit me up and sell it to me!!

jcovert@covertdesign.com
or just PM me on this site. I pay cash, check or PayPal.:)

But you know what's going to happen- another mag is gonna drop one, I promise you. Vibe or source is gonna pounce on this one, for real. Or even FM or Remix, becasue there is a viable market for that type of magaizne, Elliot Wilso just messed it up, for real. In fact, I saw today at Books-a-million a magazine that catered to hip-hop production; it had a demo cd in it and everyitnhg, and it had Rsonist from the Heatmakerz on the cover.

Man....that magazine was my sh*t!! Im sad to see it go. XXL should have never got its hands on it. Puttin jeezy on the cover and sh*t. Its too bad n*ggas like pete rock and premo didnt get a chance to grace the cover before its downfall.

yo, whats the name of it???

now thinkin about it, im pretty sure the non producers put on the cover were to help boost sales... it wasnt sold everywhere, and some store owners in NYC thought it was a porn magazine ("huh, oh you mean 'SNATCH'... lol)... whats crazy is every few weeks i would buy a 2nd, and sometimes even a 3rd one bcuz i was addicted to just havin it with me at the job, when i couldnt find my original... i damn near did that sh*t the majority of its publication... now i can go back and look at 2 original Dr Dre 1st issues...lol... and no im not sellin one. haha

Wow i never got the issue with nas and premo on it. I got the issue with timbo and scott storch on it. I can't find my eminem and dre cover.. rats...

anyway scratch magazine should've of at least featured some of the R&B producers that are killing the game right now . like b.cox, darkchild, the underdogs, and ryan leslie. I wouldve liked to see an extensive issue on R&B production..... That woud have been a great issue...

Isnt there a way we can petition this? I kind of need scratch. Not to dis-credit remix and other mags of the like but Scratch...I looked foward to that one. If there is a way to help that situation, let me know. Im down.

It's called Producer's edge, but it only comes out quarterly, so there may one more coming out beofre the year is up, they started in the summer quarter.

it was fukked before that allready.

nah, I kinda disagree with you, because you can tell the change/direction of the magazine when he took over, went from foucing on production i.e beats, gear, interviews, etc., to that artist/producer foolishiness. it was like he was making it seem like producers are not interesting enough to sell magazines by themselves w/o the artist of the moment to give them relevance. I know many people that werent producres that read it, just because they were interested in the guys who made their favorite tracks, and they were thinking when they made it. My girl used to be letting me know when she saw a new issue was out before I did.... and she doesnt even do beats lol.

i wish these magazines wouldn't stop being so dumb. just do a mag 100% on producers. don't try to cater to all markets. they underestimate the want for a REAL producer magazine. producers want a mag about up and coming, famous and legendary producers. don't start putting rappers in it. scratch killed themselves.

DAMN THIS IS SAD SH!T

this was the only magazine i know that tells you who actually makes peoples beats instead of having to dig and not find it online

like Adrenaline rush i never knew who made that song beat wise i was searching for 2 years even

one day i picked up scratch magazine i found out it was TRAXTER
who made all of do or die beats back n the day and twistas

this is sad sad stuff guys

sad sad stuff

and scratch magazine is the only place i seen a Beat Making program that works on the PSP some wild and crazy stuff

this trully is a sad day

Well in response to this void, we should start a future producers magazine.

Glad someone agrees with my suggestion; someone should put a bug in Mano1's ear for real about this, this would be a good look for him, and I'm sure that many of us can contribute ideas/suggestions/whatever to get it poppin'.
