The former N'SYNC superstar Justin Timberlake was recently turned down a song request from R&B's most controversial figure R. Kelly.

Kelly is charged with 21 counts child pornography (14 of which has been dropped in Florida) stemming from a video tape of Kelly engaging in sexual intercourse with a 14 year old girl. The Grammy award winning singer has written and produced hits for up and coming artists such as Tamia,Cassidy and JS.

The request for the song was made by Timberlake to Kelly's publicist following the Grammy award ceremony in Feburary.

"I truly admire and respect R. Kelly in every single way musically" Timberlake said while signing autographs outside of Dolce' in Beverly Hills. "Say what you want about him, but he is without a doubt the best R&B singer/producer/songwriter in the game right now. I look up to him and hopefully I can get a chance to work with him someday"

When asked if he would work with Timberlake, Kelly, who was chatting with producer Terry Lewis at the Damita Jo Album Release party following the Soul Train Awards, blunty stated "I refuse to write hits for someone who does not appreaciate the gift of the music. I refuse to write hits for someone who turns their back on someone who showed you the ropes of touring,marketing and the game itself. I refuse to write hits for someone who uses and abuses this thing called R&B music just to gain respect and acceptance from their opposite conterpart.I refuse to write hits for someone with the name of Justin Timberlake "

R. Kelly is due back in court on April 2nd in Illinois and his new LP intitled "Happy People" is slated to drop May 30th. Justin Timberlake's new LP is due sometime next spring

I don't know who the source is but someone posted this on the chamillionaire.com board. I wonder what this is about. What y'all think?

I'm definatley with my boy ox on this one tho in the sense that a big time collaboration like that just oozes with cash in todays industry, and I really can't see why the phantom pisser would show that attitude. It wold be very intriging to see this unfold tho.

I searched Google and it was mostly message boards that came up and a few tabloid websites so I'm not sure if I believe it.

I'm saying tho, why do all the white entertainers have to be racist? I don't know if anyone notices but supposedly Elvis, Eminem, Justin Timberlake, etc. are supposedly racist. Are there no racist white entertainers??

I'm glad Ox said what he said...yeah it's "odd" alright. Kelly used that "opposite counterpart" line, and I think we all know what he means.

I think the pattern here is that when a white guy has a problem with something a black guy does, it's because of racism.

Boutbeats, I think you meant to ask "Are there no non-racist white entertainers?? " I think there's plenty of non-racist white people in general, but they don't get recognition that the inbreed rednecks & Cops get. I think if we could get rid of those 2 groups of people, Black folks might actually like us one of these days.
 
Say what you want, but I'm with Mr. Pisspot on this one. None of us knows what J.T. is really like, but there HAVE BEEN waaaaaaaay too many rumors regarding his treatment of blacks in the industry. Just the fact that he left Janet in the cold with that nipple sh!t just confirms this even more for me.


Maybe R. Kelly has some insight on this sh!t that none of us have? Yeah, but all you dudes can think about is the money. Pitiful.

I have a lack of respect for both artists...but only because of the person that they both are.

You've got R. Kelly, the pissaholic and then there's Justin Timberfake. The guy actually said that N-Sync only existed in order to get Justin where he is now. As bad as N-Sync were, I still think that's disrespectful to the other members and all the people putting mad money behind them and working for them.

And co-sign on what Geoff said about Pete Townsend. Just because he was in The Who people are trying to avoid the whole damn thing.
