I think running a studio would be a lucrative business. If all your equipment is paid for and your rent or mortgage is reasonable then why not open for business. I have a homie thats been making a living off studio time & beats since I met him in 2006. It all boils down to your marketing & promo. Also your rates have to be affordable.
If you have other streams of income then a studio would only compliment that.
