Yo I was wonderin if anyone has ever used those email blasts to promote their songs.. like mp3waxx.com and others.

How successful are those blasts and are they legit??? Are they worth the price?

Anyone have any info or personal experiences with those services??

ive always wanted to do this.like freakin email 10 million people. atleast 100,000 would listen i think. i knew this 1 guy who had millions upon millions of email addresses. he is the annoying jerk who sends out all those viagra and penis enlargement pills emails that you get all the time to your email account. but ive lost contact with him, man if he would have just sent out 1 blast for me for free i would have been so happy.but i never asked.

anyway thats my story.....

Im looking into this also, although not on a music related tip. It's for my new small business. ( Income opportunities avaliable! hit me on pm for more info.) ::shameless plug::

if anybody has any info on the op i would appreciate if you shared the experience with us.

Its not worth it don't do it ... I know tons of people who have paid and
the only one gaining is the person you paying ... You need to hire a PR
person who is actually going to work the record to actual DJ's, Stations,
Outlets, Etc and keep track of who plays it.

All the people on those lists are collected at random and spammed 75%
of the time ... I don't listen to random music emails I get unless I told
someone to email me their music and 75% of them I never asked for.

Well e-mail blasts are only successful when you have built report with the people your e-mailing. I suggest any artist who is serious about creating a solid fanbase utilize an e-mail log while on tour or during a PR run. Keep in touch with your fans.

thanks everyone for your input... dont think imma try it.. u guys got better ideas thanks

This is correct, build your core AUDIENCE and allow them to expand your influence virally
