there was a good interview with him 2 issues ago in Wax Poetics.

45 King is definitely tight, but he's not hot. In order to be "hot", you have to be happening right now. You're on fire. 45 Kings day has past, although I think he could hold his own against a few of todays producers.

45 King is apart of the foundation of hiphop music. His mix work is classic. He helped lay the construct of this art.
Withstanding the test of time is a big one. Are people talking about other dj's from 20 years ago?

What equipment did you use in the past and what are you using now for production?
I used the AKAI S900,S950,S1000,S2000 and then the MPC 2000XL.  Now I use LOGIC 6 on my MAC G4 Lap top.

Is there any difference in sound quality between your old set up and LOGIC 6?
Not really?

You have many producers who believe the SP1200/Akai S950 combo provides the best sound.  Do you find that to be true?
Its not what you have it's how you use it and program it.

That should answer the "what does he use question (if it ever comes up)

blaze is musically more advanced than 45 king, so id rather keep reading questions about blaze as opposed to 45 king.
