I mainly prefer rock music with synth. Some of my favourite bands are Zeromancer, Deathstars, Down Below, Blue Stahli, A Life Divided, Renegade Five.

My favorite rock/prog band are quite different from what others posted. Not sure if anyone here listens to these.

-Camel (I love this band)
-Uriah Heep (when David Byron was around)
-Tai Phong (i love every song. vietnamese/french prog band with english vocals. how cool.)
-Genesis (1969-1978 material)
-Alan parsons project (not a single bad album)
-Styx (1972-1979 material)
-Pink Floyd (do i need to say more)
 
System of a Down(absolute favorite including Serj solo and Scars), AFI, Panic! At The Disco, Sublime, Rise Against, Green Day, The Cars(If you count them as rock), Deftones, and A Perfect Circle.
