What website to find musicians? (x-post)

I've been looking around on sites like craigslist and auditions.com for good listings of musicians for different styles of music but most of those sites are skewed mainly towards death metal bands it seems and dont offer much in the way of other genres.

What are some good free websites that some of you guys have found for getting in contact with musicians? Gonna be posting this in the hip hop and rock forums too for a nicely diverse list.
 
sure hope there's a reply to this one. i searched some when i started starting (im still starting). wow, its like there's nothing out there. i had to try myspace, and we just wont go there. im figuring ill try to make some good remixes with acapellas and put the word out im lookin to produce. there was a site i remember, i think musicians sign-up & pay to be listed, but the pickins were soooo slim it was sad, only a couple artists & nobody marketable.
