Popular drum pattern. What drums are these?

I've been hearing this syncopated drum pattern in a few songs lately, and I really like it. Are they using toms to create it?

-Do you guys know where to find good, EDM fitting tom samples?

The first example, it sounds more like a bass note playing the pattern. In the intro to the second example, it does sound a little like "electric" toms, but I actually think it's two different synth kick drums.

The actual pattern is very simple, btw. Count it "1 a 2+ 3 a 4+" ("one-ah-two-and-three-ah-four-and"). It's a very simple Calypso rhythm.

Starts actually demonstrating it at about 5:50-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjSdXoEcAb4

On an actual Calypso record here-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZkiwdxbJBk

And a very famous "disco-ized" morphing of the rhythm here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCW1i5HQ0o0

As to EDM tom samples, I dunno; I think they're everywhere(?)

I'm confused about what you are asking here? Do you want the rhythm (the timing of the notes) or some tom samples?

The rhythm goes like this, in semiquavers... k--tk-t-k--tk-t- (k =kick, t =tom, -=semiquaver/sixteenth note rest)

You could probably have worked that out easily from just messing about with piano roll and snap on in your daw though...

I did work it out. I was just wondering if it's toms they're using or what other type of drum samples.
