I've been really loving THE MAZE TO NOWHERE EP by Lorn and have tried remaking some of the sounds in Serum on my own. Some are fairly clear saw or square waves with some filters but I've been really struggling to recreate or even understand others. I'm very inexperienced when it comes to synthesizers though so I guess that's to be expected. I suppose at some point I probably need to accept that he used specific hardware or waveforms that I might not have, but I feel like I can get really close with some help or extra knowledge. Specifically the high end synth that comes in at 1:25. I can't link it here because I'm a new user, but searching LORN - THE MAZE TO NOWHERE on Youtube will get you a full video of the EP and the timestamp I mentioned will sync up there. I'd appreciate any insight on how ANY of these sounds are made though because they strike me as very polished. Hope someone is willing to provide some insight, thanks!
