VBulletin Update Monday Oct. 28

Hi everyone! FYI the site will be down for a short while (I hope not more than 10 minutes) around 10am Paris time (so 3am or so EST). We are upgrading the software and then there are some manual fixes after that we need to do. In case you see anything wacky please let me know!

We are doing this due to a recent security breech in the software which resulted in thousands of VBulletin forum sites being hacked.

Apologies in advance for any inconveniences caused by the update! :hmmm:

seem to have lost the fp favicon on the tabs the vbulletin one has replaced it

also the advertising banner at the top has disappeared and the css has changed slightly for the grey/white theme

The upgrade is now over. There were some layout issues but it should now be back to normal. Please let me know if anything is broken or not working as it should.

bandcoach> The favicon should now be back and I don't see any problem with the ads in the grey/white theme. Do you still have the issue? If yes, what browser are you using?

Cheers,
Nico

still some issues most notably the black border around the menu structures at the top right of the page and the missing banner between the top of the page and the top of the posts sections still missing (not down to the use of a operas block content tools) see the attached image

just went to advanced search and got the following two lines displayed at the top of the page

Warning: Declaration of vBForum_Item_SocialGroupMessage::getLoadQuery() should be compatible with that of vB_Model::getLoadQuery() in ..../packages/vbforum/search/result/socialgroupmessage.php on line 24

Warning: Declaration of vBForum_Item_SocialGroupDiscussion::getLoadQuery() should be compatible with that of vB_Model::getLoadQuery() in ..../packages/vbforum/search/result/socialgroupdiscussion.php on line 24

another issue that is just coming to light is the delay in transmitting daily updates (they usually arrive before 10am my time) and in receiving alerts about new pms - it's just gone 3pm my time and I am just now receiving the alert re a pm that was received closer to 11am my time, i.e. a 4 hour delay between actual receipt and notification of receipt - the delay on pm alerts is usually 1 minutes at most......

another one just popped up when I went to look at my likes

Warning: Declaration of vB_ProfileBlock_vBSEOLikes::block_is_enabled() should be compatible with that of vB_ProfileBlock::block_is_enabled() in ..../vbseo/includes/functions_vbseo_pre.php on line 388

on the plus side

loving the activity stream page - highlighted an active botlike spammer (cheap prescriptions and over the counter medicines mostly) in two of the groups - deleted the groups and the activity disappeared

True! I just received this post as an alert 3 hours after you posted this....

I don't see any "black border" around the menu on the grey layout. Even when using Opera. Could you be more explicit?

Also, I always have an ad banner on the top of the page. Maybe it's due to your location as some ads are different given the visitor's location. I'll check with the person responsible for managing the ads. Where are you located?

The black border was in the old version of the site (pre-upgrade) so that the menues stood out for the background (higher contrast between black and white than grey and white)

my location is Sydney, NSW, Australia - and yes the banner ad at the top has disappeared - source for the page indicates that there should be an ad, but there is not even a placeholder displayed

Thanks, I'll have a look at the old website and try to restore this.

Even when using an Australian proxy I still have a banner. Are you sure you're not using some kind of adblock? Could you copy/paste for me the smartadserver.com code where the banner is supposed to be displayed? It will give me the ID of the banner and I then I can have a look in our ad server.
