Switching to HTTPS

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that we'll be switching the board to https next week.

It just means that the board URL will change to https://www.futureproducers.com instead of https://www.futureproducers.com
This improves security as all communication between your browser and our servers are encrypted (modern browsers now display warning messages when browsing websites not under https).

This change should be transparent to you.

The only issue that I can think of is the fact that embedded images or videos hosted on external websites not using https will be blocked by modern browsers (this is a security issue and a website using https cannot embed non-https elements).

We will convert well known URLs directly in the database but there should remain a few with no https-equivalent that we won't be able to transform. Old threads must already be full of external images hosted on websites that do not exist anymore anyway.

Please let me know if you have any question about that, I'll let you know when it's done, there shouldn't be any downtime.

Good question
SSL certificates used to be expensive and it implies a bit of changes on the servers.
It's never too late anyway!
