Patterns

There is some midi plug in in cubase you can use for that.
It wasn't that good back when I used cubase though, but they might have improved it since 5.

Does protools or cubase feature a pattern based beatmaking feature like that in FL Studio

Dang, so many I don't really know answers.....

cubase can do anything that FL can do and it is even easier to use than fl

in reason it is called blocks, in cubase it is the arrange window. This has been a standard feature of cubase from day 1 back before the invention of vsts. That is because cubase is developed from the Pro24 and Pro16 and Pro12 codebase originally developed for the atariST computer series, where the pattern arranging feature was a requisite to working with music for some in that dark distant place known as 1987......

protools may well have it as well, but a protools fiend would have to answer for you.....

can you make a bass pattern in cubase with 'Y ' VSTì and still make another pattern with the same 'Y' VSTi yet in the same track like it's done in FL

Yes.

You use the arranging window to do this

use search bandcoach cubase pattern to find my first post about this
