okay so i buy a sequencer recording program like digital performer or logic. i sequence the music, run a midi out to my synths, and then run a line in back into my computer where the computer records it? is this how it works? does logic/digital performer trigger sequences on my synth and record what it triggers at the same time or do i need an adat to record what i am sequencing through logic.....im confused as to what exactly does what........help me!!!!???????

Ok, first of all, a audio/sequencer package like Logic or Cubase certanly record audio while playing MIDI, so to answer your question you dont need external gear. You need a good soundboard, if you are running lots of gear, many inputs are mandatory, and then root your recording channels, thats more or less it...
