Logic pro and electric guitars....

Hi i have logic and an electric guitar plus an amp. I want to record myself play in logic but it cant seem to work... I have a mac pro connected to a small mixer wich is connectef to my studio monitors... I have plugged my guitar into one of the line in on my mixer. I can hear my guitar in my speakers but when i record the sound someting extremely weird happens.. The sound of the guitar is recorded WITH the metronome !!!?! And the sound is all phased out... What am i doing wrong?? Can anyone help

Sounds like you may be recording the sound coming out of your monitors through a microphone (One on your monitor-screen maybe? Or is one on your mixer?) instead of recording the actual guitar.
