Live 8 - How to make samples cut each other?

Still learning ableton, appreciate the help fellas. I have sliced from warp markers to midi track ( creates a simpler, i believe). I for the most part rock the stock short release time, but im trying to go for tha mpc style approach on this one - so i have turned the release all the way up. How can i make each pad sample cut the previous when i play it, as to not have overlapping samples?

How to make drums cut each other off (choke) in Ableton Live

in drum rack click chain list then click i/o go to choke, click 1... check the manual 17.6 drum rack,

im still trying to figure everything out myself...peace
