hi,

i've just bought Cubase 5 and a midi keyboard and everything is well connected: when i open a vst instrument and i hit a key on the keyboard i hear a sound...so everything so far is ok! BUt, my problem is that when i hit a key, i hear the sound 1 second after hitting the key. I want to instantly hear what i'm playing. So, is this a problem with latency? or maybe not? what should i do?
 
Yes this is latency. You don't say what soundcard you have, but you need to get hold of the ASIO drivers for it and then adjust the settings for it. In Cubase you need to set your audio buffer settings as well.

my soundcard is a SB PCI128. Where can i download the drivers? on Creative's website? And then in Cubase, where precisely should i go for adjusting the buffer?
