fruityloops live recording help?!?

i cant seem to use the "live recording" function, example i want to tweak volume, filter, effects, slides while the track is playing and have all live changes saved to export to mp3. i cant figure out how it works

also, how can i fix so that the main volume is the same through out the whole track. because in my track the main volume slides higher and lower automaticly, please help
