This years NAMM had some WACK demos. The Roland V-Drums was pretty good, but the rest were lame and did not make me want the gear. They need to take a cue from Bert. The mofo will make you want to buy a motif when you already have one:p

The LinnDrum looks very promising...
You can say that again :victory:

It seems there's going to be 2 versions:
-one that will be released by Dave Smith (with a built-in 4-voice analog synth)
-and the other by Roger Linn (all-digital and smaller in size!)

high res. pic of the Lindrumm II Analog:

These have to be some of the most garbage namm products this year. How is Korg going to just invert the colors on a microkorg and then the price is now $449. I could maybe see if this was the case when it first came out, but years later:confused:

agreed!
Korg are so freaking Lazy!!
that's probably a last minute idea. lol

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed that Korg did this. I mean, a microkorg cost 399 new. I don't think there is that much demand on it now to come out with a more expensive inverted keys model. It does look cool, but c'mon now, the MicroKorg came out YEARS ago. I am not paying an extra 50 for an inverted scheme on an old product that is not a collectible in my eyes at this time. If anything, the price should come down and a new version should have been introduced, unless you consider the r3 the replacement at 699

I haven't had a chance to play the R3, but it was on display at my local music store.. the construction of that thing is so cheap!!!

I find that Korg are more and more interested in producing cheap quality products and selling them at average prices for the average bedroom producer... it's a shame.

Thanks to small companies around the world (such as Dave Smith, Roger Linn, Jomox, Future Retro...) we get something to talk about and to look forward to!

yeah but what if you have to toss your keyboard into the brush so charlie can't hear (edit... i mean SEE?) da mad jamz
