Hello!

I have an older midi controller called MK-61. It was bought around the year 2000. Back then I plugged in to my PC sound card, in order to get power to it. I haven't used it for years, and now I an use apple MacBook Pro. Is there anyway to connect the controller to the power supply?

Here are the ports on the keyboards back:

There's no USB, only Sustain, MIDI-OUT, Game port and MIDI port.

Any ideas????

Hmm, this is pretty tricky. I've never seen one of these before...or anything that's powered by the now-obsolete game port. There are some game port to USB adapters out there, but I'm unsure if those'll also provide USB power (or if USB power and whatever the game port provided are even remotely similar). Might be the time to simply buy something new.

so the wiring of the gameport sockets is pretty straightforward

the 5v will be the same as that available on a usb buss 5v@2A

compare with wikipedia

so you could potentially build yourself a power supply that supplies +5v to all four pins, 1, 8, 9, 15; and a ground path at pins 4, 5, and 12 - single line only to each set of pins and all other pins connected with jumper lines

additional advice is possible if you can give us a brand name for the controller
