Samples in different format

I've been wanting to buy samples but they come in AKAI/EMU/ROLAND formats!
and the same one but in AUDIO?

do you put the akai/emu/roland ones in synths and mpc's?
and the audio do you just drag the samples into DAW's sequencers?

what do i benefit more from?

Most of the Akai samples will be wav files which should work in any DAW as well.
