BOOM BAP OR DIE
Bringing back this old thread cause it's one of my favorites. Completely changing everything as I'm trying to venture out into a completely new acoustic/hardcore/rap/DnB/Dub/Reggae massive genre blend. My new wishlist. Most of this is just changing or upgrading stuff I currently have.
I was originally planning on converting to an entire iPad based studio. I really need to play with the Kaossilator Pro and see if it works how I want it to. If I like it I'll have to use a traditional laptop setup; but I may just scrap it and do everything on the iPad if it's junk. It's my favorite piece to try, it seems really cool but the more I read it sounds like Korg may have crippled it from what it could be. I'm looking for a "band in a box" type piece to work with my acoustic guitar; but if it's junk I'll look towards maybe just doing everything in Logic with a keyboard, or in FL on the iPad.
If I like the Korg this is my plan.
Upgrade my aluminum Macbook for a Macbook Air. I bring my laptop everywhere and I want that "air" profile. I don't need much processing power as I'm not big on VSTs. Plan to get Logic Express for editing and some of it's amp models and guitar effects though.
Upgrade my Fender acoustic to a Taylor.
The Korg Kaossilator Pro really has me excited. That is the single piece I really want. I think it's really going to add some unique dimensions to my acoustic guitar and give me a "full band" mix but I gotta go try one.
Go from my C03U condenser to a Blue dynamic mic. As a bedroom artist I pick up too much unwanted noise with my condenser. The dynamic will give me a polished stage presence sound with less work. Plan to record vocals and acoustic guitar with it. I also want a handheld mic to practice my vocals and screams and mic technique.
Motu Microbook: Small, durable interface. Coming from a USB mic and don't have one. Would get the Mbox Mini but it doesn't have a Line-in.
M-Audio AV40: Just some cheap monitors for my project studio.
One last thing I really want but don't have the money for.
Gibson SG in Natural with P90s.... in lefty!!
