Asr-10

depends on what you mean by "work", if you just want to use it and hear it, you'll need two speakers and two 1/4 cables

If you have to ask that question, then you probably shouldn't get one. Try to find something like a Triton Le with the sampler option. Asr's are old and outdated and no, they won't make you sound like Kanye.

It's actually originally marketed as a stand-alone music production workstation, and if you would like to get to know it from its inside out, you can absolute use it that way and it is in no sense 'outdated' - a sampler is only as good as what you feed it with. Feed an old ASR with fresh sounds and it will sound fresh, period.

Of course. There will always be people from all camps shouting about their opinions. I worked with ASRs back in 1994. Today I use other tools. But I still look at my gorgeous ASR / EPS disk library at times and feel a bit sad I don't have it all converted. One day it will happen... :)
