A4000 & RS7000 spec comparison?

Sup everyone?

You're all probably a little sick of me talking about the RS7000, but I've got another question. This time RE: it's SAMPLER section.

I was recently told that the SAMPLER onboard the RS7000 is similar to that of the A4000 sampler -- which I understand to be a very cool sampler! Designed mainly for the techno set. ;) I don't know much about it, but from the little bit I've gathered, it seems pretty awesome.

Would anyone, who ownes one or is familiar with an A4000, please check the SPECS on the RS7000 at http://www.yamahasynth.com/pro/rs7000/index.html and reply some feedback as to whether or not IT IS similar.

Of course, SPECS don't always tell the whole story, I know. Nonetheless, I would still like to know. Thanks in advance.

THANKS! :)

That's what I'd originally thought. It's just that this past weekend I got an email from some guy that said the SAMPLER is more of an A4000 than an SU-700. Supposedly he's got a BETA RS7000 -- I can't verify this as fact though.

Maybe he means the O.S.'s interface is fimilar to the A4000?

I was just hoping that ithe SAMPLER section on the RS7000 would be compariable to the A4000. That would have been cool!

Anyway, thank you for the reply -- ;) it's very much appreciated. Later.

But wait....

The RS7000 uses something similar to the A4000's effect and sampling capabilities. The SU700 has 3 effects that can be used at a time on your samples while the RS7000 is supposed to have 6, like the A4000 & A5000.

So maybe it's more like an SU700 hybrid with the A4000's effects? Would make more sense that way -- I think -- considering that the RS is just a beefed up RM1X, maybe the sampler section is just a beefed up SU700? ...[Heres hoping to that.]

Someone else I know compared it to the ES-1 recently too? They demoed it at NAMM -- guess we'll have to wait and see.

Later,

but is that rs7000sampler phrase or 'common' sampler(for melodies and multisamples)? su700 is phrase and a4000(and akai s2000 emu esi32) are 'common' samplers...so what about rs7000?if its phrase sampler i would be very dissapointed..

RS7000

The sampler section has been described as a hardware version of RECYCLE. It is not a PHRASE sampler.

It can be used as a phrase sampler, but it will do SO MUCH more! :D I've even heard people say it's a little bit of A4000, and ES-1.

That's about all I know, really. Still, no one has it, so everything is still speculation. ;)

Just to correct myself... RE sampler section

"I've even heard people say it's a little bit of A4000, and ES-1. "

This is untrue... It would best be discribed as an SU700 with some of the A3000's operating system? That's the latest that I've been hearing nowadays.

Guess I jumped the gun on that one.

Later...

Maybe so, but I don't have a sequencer and a sampler. I only have my computer and my sound module. So I really want a RS7000. Maybe I'll just have to wait for santa claus.

Im in the same boat...

Im in the same boat, so I too will still be getting the RS7000. Good luck.

Yo Toy ZzZzZz, that is a seriously cool sig u got there! i'm vibin' on it! :D

PS guys, the A3000 is a hot sampler, and the QY-70 is what i use for live sequencing. and u can use "panel play" function to use the knobs on the front to effect parameters live ... so u could consider that option (2nd hand, not 2 expensive), if the rs7000 aint got enought sampler functions. just an idea, to add a bit of spice to the wonderings. ;) good luck!

A4000 it a Good, but the rs 7000 is going to be a Arse, i bought the RMX1 from my friends Todays before, and man that machine Rokzzzzzzz, i just love the sound , if RMx1 is a kick *** , what would u think, the rs7000 will do.

not a bit Powerfull, But so much powerful that if we go on prducing tunes, it's never comming to an end. POSSIBILITIES[/n]

haha, Jiten you sound like you're fully vibed up and ready to go ... you think i'm gonna say calm down, it's just music we are talkin' about?? NO WAY! i am gonna say GO HAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRD! make the PHATTEST, BADDEST, BREAKIEST SMOOTHERY that is humanly or alienly possible!!! . Become a wizard of your thang. All the best,
i-clan

thanks i-caln, for supporting, and u bee sure , i create the most phatestn and hardcore music. hey if u use RB338, then download my file created in rb338. and can u help me on creating techniques to create 2-step beats.:D Thanx once again.

Jiten, seriously hot, that swangin swagger is kickin it! Yeeeeaaahhhhh#######yeh!

seriously man, i wanna drop a few tracks into protools when i get a chance. nice one ;) filth. i prefer pattern mode, where i can just turn on the filth tracks, instead of waiting for it to build up, i can hear like a vocal sample just dropped in from silence, and then bang! straight into one of those choice 2step beats i hear you. It is so good, especially that jazzy ride cymbal style, way cool, like Mr Relaxation meets pfat black funkitizer!

so no melodies? oh damn it!

Of course you can make melodies on the RS7000's sampler.
It's functions are divided in:
Pitch, Pitch+Kit, Kit, and Divide and Sequence.
The two first are pitchable / streachable. The "kit" is a way of spreading several different samples across the tonescale, if you understand.
