Running out disk space on a macbook pro

Hi guys,

I've currently got 5.6GB left of my 128GB SSD left and I need some advice on what to do about finding more space. Now due to the fact that my macbook is a 2015 retina model and can't have the disk drive itself upgraded, I was wondering what options there are? I'm looking to install Komplete 10 at some point soon and need about 100GB for the total install, plus I have only really done about half of my coursework for the year.

At the moment, I am thinking it's probably best to bite the bullet and get a 1, or maybe 2, TB external hard drive and install Komplete onto that and also use it as a place to store my work but i'm just asking around incase anyone has a better solution in mind?

Thanks in advance,
Aidan ;)

P.S. If this is in the wrong forum I apologise. I have been a member for a while but not a very active one so i'm still learning the layout. Thanks.

Delete some porn....problem solved.

Seriously though you are going to have to add an external hard drive to that hipster Facebook machine of yours.

Pretty easy solution, just get an external hard drive. I'm surprised you haven't already, it's a pretty crucial purchase for producers for storing samples, loops, etc. Plus it would be a good idea to use it to back up all your current data and projects. They are generally very affordable at around $100 or less.

Your choices come down to how much storage you want, and if you want a portable or not-so portable kind. Personally I like the portable ones because I can easily put it in a pocket to bring to my friends house or gigs, and you usually would only need 1 USB port. Brands I like are Seagate and Western Digital (WD), to each his own though. It might be a good idea to narrow your choices down and look up reviews online to compare the speeds + reliability of each model and then choose what you think is best.

This is my first post so I can't post links :) but Newegg has an external HD section which has a ton of choices for you to check out. Good luck!
