How to improve my recordings quality with a new gear?

Hello All!

I'm really excited about writing my first post at the Future Producers forum:) Recently I've been recording a lot (mainly an acoustic guitar and vocal + soft synths for my music demo).

Could you please let me know (by looking at my gear list) how I can improve recordings quality by investing (let's say ~1000 USD) in a new gear - what part(s) from the list should I change?

DAW: Cubase 5
Audio Interface: M-Audio M-Track 2x2M
Microphone: Blue Spark SL
Cable: KLOTZ MC5000 (with Neutrik connector)

Thank you in advance for your help!

Well, many might say that you could make an improvement as to your interface/preamp and microphone. But you should be able to get decent recordings with what you have. Can we hear a sample of what you've been doing?

What kind of space are you recording in? Chances are that improving on your environment is going to make a much bigger impact than changing any of the above. That said, the mic is what has the most impact out of these - but I don't really know if there's anything wrong with the Spark SL.
