Okay, I'm basically looking to invest around £850-£900 in a new desktop system. I have been working off of a laptop with an amd processor for 3 years and have seen the blue screen a few more than too many times.
My good friend who is also an IT technician and a music producer helped me customize my own setup on chillblast.com but he has left out an i7 3770k processor no overclocking 3.50GHZ for an i5 overclocked up to 4.2GHz. Now aside from the price differences I was wondering why? and he told me that the i7 has no real benefits in comparison to the i5.
This is the build;
I use pretty sample heavy libraries and i'll post the exact software here;
- Fl studio 9 & 10
- Nexus 2 with expansions
- Komplete 7
The hardware that i'll be using is as follows;
- M audio Fast Track Ultra
- M audio Axiom 49
- Adam A5x
Another friend also suggested this build - which would be a self built system.

I'd just like to know if there are any big differences, cooling system e.g. and how important they are in the overall system.
