Thank you for all the posts here. I used to buy computer parts and those links helped me a lot.!! Thank you guys. Also moneysavingexpert.com gave me an idea on how to save more. Interesting links. Keep on posting.

should i focus more on CPU or on RAM for music production, windows running system and mostly with Ableton?

depends on the person, but the most important things imo are ram processor hd space
I would reccommend atleast 8gb ram an i5 or above and atleast 1tb of hd and a ncie vid card wouldn't hurt

I had my computer built with all the parts i want for music production and video editing.
You want something not just to handle your workload today but something that will allow you to grow and still
handle whatever you throw at it.
I do a lot of traileresque type music so my sessions can get up to about 12-13gb or more if i want

i put my OS on a drive (120gb ssd) by itself so that if anything was to go wrong for any reason, i can just whipe that hd clean and reinstall the OS with no loss.
While my other drive (1tb) is for program installations and the other drive (2tb) is for backup storage purposes.

comp specs
Just yesterday i had a session that was 14gb and it ran like a charm at 96k
I''m going to eventually get 32gb of ram
