I'm looking to make additions to my home studio, the first of which is to get a lot more inputs and outputs.
I'm looking for an audio interface or mixer which is usb, firewire or PCi(e). I need it to have a number of xlr mic inputs, say 6 and lots of instrument cable inputs. I need to it to be multitrack so I can record many instruments and microphones at once and send them to different tracks in pro tools 10.
I have a tight budget of around £200-£300.
I have already been advised such interfaces as the m-audio 8R ultra and the Behringer firepower FCA1616 and the Tascam US-800. Also mixers such as the mackie OYNX 1200i and the Phonic helix 12 plus.
So pretty much I wanted to see what you people think is best! I'm recording like drums and loads of miced up guitars and vocals mostly.
So yeah would love to hear you opinion
