Why dont VSTs run smoothly

ok so i just copped a laptop for a portable alternative. Its an Acer with an AMD 2.6 DualCore processor 3GBramm and 500GB HD.

EVERYTHING CLICKS AND POPS

i installed FL Studio on it, loaded up Nexxus, --click--click--click--. everything started laggin and clickin and poppin.

I have a USB audio interface (TASCAM US122L). I plug that in and it still dont fix the issue.

Im getting frustrated. lol.

gimme some suggestions please...thanks


P.S. Reason runs flawlessly with no lag or clicking. i even had over 30 instruments and effects loaded and playing at once. and none of my programs are bootleg. I own FLStudio, Reason, Recycle, Nuendo and Sonar X1

i had the same problem when i got my new computer. Are you using the "ASIO 4 ALL" Driver. Check your audio settings in FL studio. Thats probly what it is. I had my FL on a differnt audio driver and it woyld lag and crackle all the time but i switched it to ASIO 4 ALL and it Runs SMooth. i hope that helps...
