Well dude.... I personaly am not at that level to start playing live gigs , but if you are producing electronic music you will have to DJ because most edm producers don't make money out of their music more out of their life gigs. Just not a lot of people buy EDM these days. But if you don't wan't to make a living out of making music, no you don't need to DJ.

It would be nice if I could just hand off my tracks to DJs and let them do the whole "throwing hands at an intoxicated crowd" thing, but if you want to make any kind of living producing music nowadays you pretty much have to perform.
