Octatrack by Elektron

hi all, been a while since i been here ...

quick message to say that Elektron have made a new type thang, called the Octatrack.

used for sampling and sequencing, also dj'ing.

8 tracks, load up any type of 'machine' onto the track..
stream a song from the 4 gig removable media card,

load a sample to DSP ram for sequencing and advanced sound design options...
also, is possible to choose the 8th track to be a global effects track..

yes, the ad is weird. why did they do it? i really don't know.

anyway they do make some nice gear.

personally i have started playing electric guitar again, really getting into latin music, of all things. so, im not purchasing any more synth/sampler gear at this time.

there are some cool information slides about the octatrack on the elektron website tho, looks to be a neat and versatile machine.
 
Elektron makes boutique products for a niche audience, so I guess they can "afford" to make a pure lifestyle ad instead of a more marketing-oriented "feature list" - and I'm fairly sure most everyone of their target audience is keeping in touch in what they're doing :) Never seen that one though, thanks for the heads-up.
