ok so I got a saffire 6 and it crackles when I put it at high gain even when the mics not plugged in.will a preamp hel with that?do i need to buy more cables and stuff to connect the preamp to the interface?what effects help take ou that unwanted static crackle stuff?

You need to check your audio settings, sample rates and latency. The higher it is the less crackles you will get.

how can I check those settings?
If I get a preamp what kind of cables will i need?

Read the manual that came with the interface you bought. They are all different.

Depends on the specific preamp you get. Wait til you to that point. Lets focus on getting everything set up and you grasping the whole recording process.

i swaer it doesnt have a manual.idk y
