The concept is dope. But it is missing something as you mentioned, some kind of lead in the hook or some FX on the transitions. Some breaks and cuts here and there would really help.
A good rapper on this track would help filling the track too.
The clap is a bit too loud and dry IMO, try lowering it a db or 2 and add a slight reverb to make it blend in the track more.
