if you want to remove the vocals from a song to sample them without any of the backing music, you will need a plugin like "X-Capella"

Use some heavy filtering to remove the bg music etc. but the end product will be a morphed sound of the voice like a telephone quality voice, etc.

Depends on what you want.

X-capella looks fresh.

I'm sorry... I thought it was understood that "X-Capella" is a fake plugin... it does not really exist.

I posted it because the idea of something to extract vocals is somewhat of a running joke on FP.

Sorry for the confusion.

this already been discussed many times, the answer is NO

big time ppl like kanye west and other big producers sample the vocals from other songs by simply requesting the vocal track from the song owner

when you kill someone, your life doesn't change much, but when someone kills you, then your life is over

Yes that may be true in some cases, but in most cases, he actually still includes most of the backing track instrumental. If you listen to a lot of hip hop records, they keep the instrumental cause it adds a certain flavor to fill in the missing spaces

Check this plug in out
Elevayta Extra Boy Pro

The company that makes it claims :
Extra Boy Pro (name derived from 'Extract') is a tool that can be used to isolate, remove, suppress or enhance ANY part of a stereo audio track! Extra Boy Pro operates in real-time and is not restricted to vocal processing only. Extra Boy Pro incorporates a unique 2D Spectral-Spatial editing mode by which individual instruments, having been visually identified by their Spectral-Spatial graphical signature, can simply be deleted from the mix! Alternatively, an instrument that needs a boost can be boosted by simply drawing a Region of Interest (ROI) around its Spectral-Spatial signature and increasing the gain in that part of the mix. Multiple ROIs can be drawn and deleted independently. This provides the capability to delete, isolate or boost multiple instruments. A scrolling Spectrograph mode provides a further powerful diagnostic tool by which to visually identify individual instruments and edit their audio properties.

I haven't tried it, but I listened to the samples they give for it and the sample extracts are quite impressive.
