I've just read a news about it...It said that Akai Electric just stopped their business because they were too much into debt...

I don't know the consequences it'll have with their musical instruments branch !

DAMN!

Okay okay.. lets hope AKAI Professional (who makes the samplers) is considered as another company (crossing fingers).

I've heard that EMU is releasing E4 PLATINUM, the obviously most powerful sampler in the world, it is very expensive, but heh.. at least it makes me breath even if AKAI goes away (i doubt it though)

Yes, it's crazy !

I hope, as you said, that Akai Professional is not concerned by that...I've checked their site looking for news, but there was nothing about that.

It's the Akai franchise company that has gone bust, not Akai themselves.

They'll be up and running again soon (if not already), they've done this countless times before.
