Just bougth Soundblaster Live Card.
Still, when I record a synth-sound from keyboard to computer, a heavy noise interfers with the sound , even though it comes out clean through the speakers when I'm recording.
Suggestions?

mmhhh... what software are you using to record? A WAV editing software (like sound forge) or a sequencer / multitrack such as Cubase VST 5?

Do you still have problems DJ Chriss? So your problem is that you keep hearing a hissing "......ccchhhhhhhrrrrrriiiiiisssssssssssssss...." on everything you record right?

Maybe change your name

Have thought about it. The two "s"'s may be the problem. Maybe I should cut it down to Chris or maybe Gottlieb, I can't decide.

Tried to change my profile to "Chris" instead of "Chriss", didn't do much good. Maybe "Gottlieb" is the thing.

Yes, My cables are fine. Not the sligthest distortion. I really can't get it.
I've also shut of all the other line-ins. That's not the problem either.

OKAY

how many CHANNELS does your card have, and what drivers are you selecting for the audio channel in each software?

Problem with soundcards when they are not GINA or DARLA or PULSAR or... is that they often have only one channel, and doing multiple generation and recording with a unique channel creates some "snap, crackle, pops" (don't call Kellogs though, we can fix it).

I have no Idea how many channels. Nothing is said in my manual.
The soundcard is a Hoontech Digital-XG with a digital Soundblaster Live Setup.
It uses 1 IRQ, does this mean one channel?
I never record while I playback.

It has 11 different outputs (inc. a digital out) and 5 inputs (inc a digital in).
If it uses only one channel I could understand a problem, but the reviews of the card in Pc magazines have been that it is just as good as the best Soundblaster Live card available.
No audiable distortion upon recording and soforth.
How can I find out wich Drivers are used? I can of course see alot of Drivers, but what they are used for, I don't know.
