For you, "rave"is a synonim of "drugs"? A lot of people don't need drug to enjoy the night and go crazy you know.
Also, misunderstanding the word rave is giving a bad example and is a disrespect for the DJs, organizers, music composers, who are trying to drive a positive feeling through the music and the movement.
By the way, please keep the conversation legal. Thanks
peace.

EXPLAIN TO ME WHEN THE WORD "DRUGS" BECAME ILLEGAL. IS ILLEGAL ANYTHING THE GOVERNMENT CAN NOT CONTROL? BECAUSE THATS WHAT IT SEEMS LIKE. TOBACCO HAS SUCH A HIGH TAX THAT ANY TIME YOU BUY IT, YOU ARE NOT ONLY UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE TOBACCO INDUSTRY, BUT ALSO THE GOVERNMENT. THE SAME WITH ALCOHOL. I AM NOT FOR CERTAIN IF YOU KNOW WHAT A RAVE REALLY IS. AT THIS MOMENT IT DOESN'T SEEM THAT YOU DO ManoOne

Well well i see we have some sort of dispute here.Well the story is as follows HARDWOOD the word drugs and the use of drugs is not illegal at these kind of partys seeing that about 90% more or lees are doing it and if you do go to a rave or some private partys you are cool with it so what is all the fuss.
Now to your question my best rave was in South Africa at the Mother 6 rave "carl cox guest"and then to 2 After partys.Best rush in my life

well you can use all the drugs you want, f**k your head with what you want...but I don't think it's the good place to talk about that, asking such silly question like :"TELL ME ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE, DRUGS AND ALL"...where is the word music in your question ? I think this it not the purpose of this forum...maybe you're more into drugs than music...and I agree with Mano, having such speech is a disrecpect and is really not a good thing for the techno world...
I'm fed up that actually most ppl think that techno ppl = junkies, I'm a music composer and I wouldn't like that all the ppl think I'm a drug user, even if I was...
In our little music community up here this is a pretty big issue around the clubs. Do people come here for the Music or the drugs? It is getting to be a really touchy issue... I feel that electronic music would not be were it is today without the chemicals....with that being said...dosen't mean that it has to keep going that way. This is a touchy situation so I'll leave it at that

I don't know. I'm a bit diverse on this subject.
Hardwood, don't be scared away here, please. Everyone is entitled to their own oppinion.
I have this feeling about our new generation of youths (and myself).
It's a "rush" feeling. It's about living in a "stasis" of a constant evolution. Everything is going past you in high resolution of colour, beat and violence.
All that matters to some of us is feeling the rush of beeing in this "stasis" with all the colours and feelings going wild beside you.
We can feel people beeing afraid of it, and in a sense... we like it.
We put the word "control" in a place where it doesn't belong, but still is adaptable, by the means of a generational- and cultural gap, which for some of us becomes a unity. The unity forms control. Control of senses and control of environment.
A high speed and ultra colour rush which we understand and breathe every day.
I don't personally need drugs to rush. I can still stand in the middle of a strobe and feel the unity and feel the ultimate sensation of the beat and the sweat of the people.
We are ALIVE, and that's what matters. Beeing alive and feeling alive. Feeling the stares of the people in the windows, looking down at the wet streets, with no understanding and a bit of anciety.
I don't care if some of my friends take drugs, cause I understand them, and I understand the sensation in the bowels when the beat goes on and the crowd starts moving.
(And nook!: I haven't been smoking!! I just can't help it!)
So we identify horses... with ultra!

hehe drugs, raves, youth... oh boy! Could this be the No.1 argument in the club scene? I get high on red bull so I'm cool hehe (cheap too!) I think emotions are sacred, you realy shouldn't play around with them
Back to the topic, favorite rave (or rave type thing) was northern exposure 2. I went in the most pissed off state (had just broken up), met the most amazing woman, had the most love filled time and never saw any of the people again. It was one of those nights that you look back on and think "was it real or am I imagining this?". I'm sure we've all had that feeling at some point.
