I can't realy classify the UK scene as one. If you go north you get the amazing trance, go south you get the breaks, etc.etc. I think everything generally in the UK is slowly becoming commercial though. I mean, gone are the days of wild drum N bass beats, now they're all pretty much the same (accept the rare few like Goldie who still come out with amazing beats). Ibiza? It's always going to be commercial, whatever's the "in thing" is what Ibiza's all about. If the in thing becomes harder, Ibiza will become harder, if it's softer, it'll become softer. It seems the "underground" image is becoming more and more popular and Ibiza has to change to accompany the needs. That's all it is. Ummm hard house the new trance? Hmmm I classify my trance in 3 forms: 1)hard, 2)soft, 3)cheese. Hard is what you'll get from places like Germany, soft is what you'll get from places like the US and cheese is what you'll get on the second CD of the next Essential Selection (if they even come out anymore) and that's what hard house is taking over if you ask me.
