http://www.knowzy.com/usb-turntable-comparison.htm

Since so many people have been popping this up lately.

I have the Stanton T90 USB Turntable (got for $200 at zzounds)
Great quality, and great sound
caused me problems at first, but works nonetheless now

my beef with usb turntables are is there is no way of controlling volume on them. I have yet to see one wtih a volume knob so ur gonna overload the inputs and create distortion.

^^I agree. I say buy a normal table and get a good entry level mixer with it.

well more people are looking for somethig less expensive

getting a good turntable & needle
then getting the equipment to make it record on a computer
that alone is gonna be more than 300 which is pretty much over the price of all usb turntables

plus if ur smart with software, u would set a hard clipping limit like i do
So distortion is never a problem for me

That is a good choice indeed if you are on a budget. I will stick to my 1200's and Audio 8 dj card...

so u mean compress the input signal so u dont hear the compression because you are basically turning it down? are the wave forms still flat when u record it? You should already have an audio interface. You can get a mixer or a phono amp for under $100 and a turntable for as low as $100. Its all u need there are options out there but u dont need to spend a ton of money to get started

ok so the preamp brings the level up to something useful but theres no volume control thats where distortion is introduced
